Isla Mujeres is a tiny island just off the coast from Cancun, and it was one of my favorite destinations in Mexico. Although I only spend one full day on the Island, I would recommend a visit.
In my last post, I told you about my trip to the Solang Valley by mountain bike, this time I went with a motorbike to the Jana falls and apart from the sportive part it was as amazing. It will take you about 1 and a half hour to reach the Jana falls by motorbike, and there you can hike up to the waterfalls for around 1 hour.
If you like nature, sport, and action, this is the absolute right thing for you. You have to bear in mind that you have to be quiet sportive and fit to do this tour. If you’re not, there are other options too.
Bangkok – the mega metropole in the middle of Southeast Asia, home for 15 million people and home for some of the best food in the world. In between Street food, rooftop Bars and markets, majestic temples decorate the city. One skyscraper tops the other, and you can find as cheap or as expensive places as you want. This city has absolutely everything, and there is nothing you can’t find.
Last but not least, I got my Hostel recommendation for you. In the previous 30 days, I showed you all around Bangkok, from markets over rooftop bars, temples, and activities everything is included. But after all this action and excitement, you need a place to relax and come down. If you’re a Backpacker and on a budget like me then I highly recommend the Hostel called Back home Backpackers in the old town near to Khaosan Road.
There is an underground system in Bangkok? I didn’t know that something like that exists in Asia – That’s what my best friend told me when I texted him that I would take the underground to get to a night market. Yes – there is an underground system and even a Skytrain running through Bangkok, and they are often the best way to get around as they aren’t stuck in traffic.
The neon market has two dozen of restaurant where you can eat and sit, else than the other markets where you only have little shops who sell the food and you eat it while walking. All of the restaurants serve kind of the same food with little difference, so it’s more about where you feel comfortable and want to sit. The food choice is vast with fresh grilled fish, traditional Thai dishes, and all kinds of seafood. Prices are a little higher than on other markets, but therefor you can sit down.
The Thai red cross runs the snake farm, and they primarily use the facilities to extract venom from the snakes to produce vaccines and other medical products. But every weekday at 2.30 PM there is a snake-handling show in which you can participate and hold a snake by yourself at the end.
Muay Thai is a sport full of action and nothing for a weak stomach, but it’s so much fun to watch. At the Rajadamnern Boxing Stadium, you get four times a week nine fights to watch and that for a reasonable price. Every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday action is guaranteed, and ticket prices are always the same.
Nowhere in Bangkok, you can find a better local experience in combination with an excellent market. Full of food, clothes, and bars – all of that in a very stylish design and full of people. The unusual thing is that there are no tourists on the market and it’s a truly local experience.
