Has China the best food?

It’s for sure that I’ll never eat in a Chinese restaurant in Europe again. The food here in China is just too good and so different than in Europe. When I arrived, I had no idea what I would eat and what I would like. It turned out that I love nearly everything and I hadn’t one lousy meal so far. It already started when I arrived at the airport in Beijing. I was so hungry and just went into the first restaurant I saw. I took a noodle soup and didn’t expect too much as it was in an airport and I had terrible experiences with that. But then I tasted the first bit, and it was just an explosion of taste in my mouth.

The thing with the sticks

The soup was amazing; I just had one small problem… I couldn’t eat with sticks. In Europe, I always asked for a fork and knife, but here they don’t have it, not even at the airport. So I tried to eat this soup, and I think everyone in that restaurant looked and smiled at me. But after a few days I was finally ready to eat with sticks, and now it’s as usual as to eat with a fork and knife. However I still eat like a pork but that’s fine here in China, it’s, in fact, impossible to eat a noodle soup without making any noises or weird things with your mouth.
In the following, I’ll present to you the best food I ate in the different city’s. Hopefully, you won’t get too hungry, and if so you have to come and try it for yourself.

Beijing:

Food China
This was my first noodle soup in China, and I just fell in love with them.
Food China
Hotpot – Boiling oil where you dip all the Ingredients in and eat it with the sauce
Food China
I just went into a restaurant and ask for the best food, so they gave me that. Chicken with sauce and rice
Food China
You can find this on every corner. Fruits with melted sugar.
Food China
On the second evening, I went to a Street Food market and found this wrap with chicken in it.
Food China
I also found this potato on that market. It’s similar to chips
Food China
Again Hotpot. But this time it was a little bit too spicy,
so I couldn’t enjoy it that much.
Food China
Another noodle Soup. This meat was just melting in my mouth. It cost me 1,9 Euro. Crazy!

Xi’an:

Food China
A typical dish in Xi’an, these are noodles with some meat and vegetables.
Food China
This is a little bit like a Hamburger with meat inside and some bread around it.
Food China
I thought it would be potatoes, but actually it was not and to be honest I still don’t know what it was. I didn’t like it too much as well.
Food China
Octopus grilled with a lot of spices. Tasted really good.
Food China
This was warm bread with oil and spices

Zhangjiajie:

Food China
The best thing about the food in China is that you order a lot and then share it, so everybody eats from everything. You don’t have one dish but maybe 4 or 5 dishes which is pretty amazing.
Food China
This was pork, and it melted on your tongue.
Food China
Beef with some vegetables and garlic.
Food China
Chicken with onions, very spicy

Shanghai:

Food China
Chicken with rice and meatballs
Food China
These were the best Dumplings I ever ate. Dumplings can be found all over China. It’s meat wrapped in some sort of pastry.

Guilin:

Food China
The first time in China I saw insects. But I didn’t try them.
Food China
This was octopus covered in pastry and topped with a sweet sauce. One of the things I didn’t like.

This was a collection of the best and most typical food I ate during my time in China. Most of the things I really enjoyed. Especially the noodle soups, I can’t get enough from it.

The next big country will be Vietnam, I’m really looking forward to the food in there.
