What to do in Bangkok? The #27 of things to do in Bangkok is to watch the Show at the Snake farm.
The Thai red cross runs the snake farm, and they primarily use the facilities to extract venom from the snakes to produce vaccines and other medical products. But every weekday at 2.30 PM there is a snake-handling show in which you can participate and hold a snake by yourself at the end.
The entrance is 200 THB, and for that money, you can watch the different snakes in the cages indoors and outdoors. At 2.30 PM starts a show where the stuff demonstrates how they handle the snakes and explain a lot about the snakes, how dangerous they are and what makes them unique. The trained staff place with them and show the public how to catch the dangerous species without getting bitten.
At the end of the show they bring out a big, but harmless snake out and people can take photos with them. It’s a very informative show, and I enjoyed it a lot. The price of 200 THB is reasonable and a great activity for the afternoon.
The nearest BTS station is Sala Daeng Station or the MRT station Sam Yan.
